SHIPPING & PARTIAL LOADS
A Few Details To ConsiderOrders For Immediate Delivery
When plants are needed right away, our staff determines the best combination of price, quality and freight cost. In order to bring plants in from out of state, we typically need a week‘s notice or more. Depending on your schedule, using our local sources may be best.
Orders For Later Delivery
We are happy to place orders for later delivery. This ensures that our customers reserve the plant material they are looking for when it is available. If we know what you need and when you need it, we will make every effort to get it to you.
Smaller Orders
Freight costs greatly influence our ability to fill smaller orders. Depending on the time of year and how quickly the plants are needed, small orders may be filled most effectively by using our local sources.
Spring & Fall Shipping Seasons
Arranging plant shipments is easiest in spring and fall. We are able to arrange full loads to ship to you at a certain time. During these seasons, partial loads are simpler to arrange quickly and efficiently.
Mid-Season Deliveries
When the volume of plants being shipped is lower (generally June through mid-September), arranging deliveries becomes more difficult. It often takes longer to build a truckload that can be efficiently processed.
Multiple Pick-Up & Drop Points
Often, a full truckload of plants is assembled by combining shipments from several nurseries to several customers. However, shippers limit the number of stops they are willing to make. This may be mitigated by customers picking up their order at a convenient location.
Partial Loads
Freight charges for partial loads increase the per plant cost of delivery. Placing orders well in advance helps us arrange a full truckload, reducing your shipping cost and assuring on time delivery.
